Merriam-Webster
“It can't just be this.”
The constant feeling of being in the wrong room.
FOMO for your own life.
What being restless feels like
Head
It's always looking for the next thing. The moment you settle, you want to be somewhere else.
Body
You feel it in your body: energy that needs a release.
Life
Without a big goal or something on the calendar, you get restless. You keep sensing you should be somewhere else.
Energy, ideas and emotions with no place to go.
Left alone, it doesn't settle. You switch jobs, move countries, start plans that don't land. Or you play it safe until the energy builds up behind the dam. Meanwhile, the life you want stays somewhere else.

About
Marijn Bergsma
Curious, empathetic, restless.
I first felt it at nine, on a rainy school trip in Holland: it can't just be this. Being restless made me travel the world, learn new concepts, change careers and take risks. It also made me feel unaccomplished, not good enough, too slow. Over time I came to see it as my driver of joy and growth, and of my feelings of inadequacy.
As a certified coach, I've worked with hundreds of entrepreneurs across continents on aligning their business with their values. I'm relentlessly curious, with a bias towards action. I pull from a lot of experience, use analogies easily, and call out the bullshit you smell.
Everyone can feel restless. Not everyone has the courage to choose to transform that unease into aligned action.
Questions
What happens in the free conversation?+
We talk for 30 minutes about what's going on and see if this fits. If it does, we plan the sessions. If it doesn't, I'll tell you, and where I can, I'll point you somewhere better.
How do I know if I'm restless?+
If “it can't just be this” sounds familiar, you probably are. The free conversation is a good place to find out.
Is restless the same as anxious?+
No, though it can feel like it, and the two can go together. Anxiety is about a threat, something that might go wrong. Being restless is about wanting, something that's missing. I'm a coach, not a therapist. If what you feel is mostly fear or worry, a doctor or therapist is the better place to start, and I'll say so if I think that's the case.
Do I need to change my whole life?+
No. It doesn't require a burnout, or a complete overhaul of your life. It starts with understanding yourself and your values, and facing the fears that are holding you back.
Is this for gifted, 2e or ADHD adults?+
It can be. There is room for the depth and intensity of gifted and 2e life, and I can offer guidance and information about it from my own experience. But you don't need a label or a diagnosis.
Who is this for?+
Adults and older adolescents who feel restless and are ready to do something with it. Sessions are online, in English or Dutch.
Is this connected to BrightPath?+
Yes. I also run BrightPath. I'm the same coach and the same person. My ADHD and giftedness show up as restless, and Restless is where I work with that feeling directly.
